    American Red Cross provides emergency assistance to victims of natural disasters.

  • Salvation Army Greenville

    The Salvation Army has two shelters to assist the homeless.  The organization provides separate Women and Children's Shelter and Men's Shelter for those who ae homeless or battered.

    The United Way of Greenville helps fund many programs that provide relief and support for those in need.

  • GAIHN

    The Greenville Area interfaith Hospitality Network assists local congregations to share emergency housing and meals to the homeless.

  • Homes of Hope

    Homes of Hope offers a variety of services including homeownership, affordable rental housing and transitional housing units.

  • Triune Mercy Center

     Triune Mercy Center is a non-denominational mission church to the homeless located near downtown Greenville. 

  • SHARE

    One of the services provided by SHARE’s Community Development Division is eviction prevention for low income individuals.

  • Soteria CDC

    One of Soteria’s housing programs is a  transitional housing for those released from prison. 

  • Golden Strip Emergency Relief and Resource Agency

    The Golden Strip Emergency helps families who are experiencing a financial emergency. The Agency assists with the family’s essential needs, i.e.  food, rent, utilities, and, medication

    Hours of Operation: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 9:00 - 11:30 am.  Wednesday - 1:00-3:30 pm.

  • United Ministries

    United Ministries’ Emergency Assistance program assists with food, rent, utilities, life sustaining medications, heat, and food stamp applications. Financial assistance is available on Wednesdays @ 8 am to the first 40 people.

  • Upstate Homeless Coalition

    UHC strives to end homelessness through programming and building safe affordable housing.

Homeownership

  • Homes of Hope

    Homes of Hope specializes in refurbishing existing housing and building new homes.  After completion these homes are either rented or purchased at affordable rates. 

  • Greater Greenville Association of Realtors

    GGAR provides a muti-purpose database of all for sale property in Greenville County.

  • City of Greenville

    The City's New Home Ownership Program offers down payment and closing cost assistance to first-time home buyers purchasing a home in Greenville's "Special Emphasis Neighborhoods"

  • Habitat for Humanity

    Habitat for Humanity removes the traditional barriers to homeownership by working with each family’s unique situation, helping them address past credit issues and providing a 25-year zero-interest mortgage.

  • Greenville County Redevelopment Authority

    Greenville County Redevelopment Authority is designated as the county agency to improve affordable housing and revitalization of low to moderate income neighborhoods.

  • Genesis Homes

    Genesis Homes revitalizes low-to-moderate income neighborhoods through the development of affordable housing including homeowner and rental units.

  • The Housing Authority of Greenville, SC

    The Housing Authority helps to provide families with proper and adequate housing by acquiring property, constructing and operating housing, and lending money for low to moderate income families.  (864)-467-4250

    The Neighborhood Housing Corporation is a non-profit organization that constructs affordable housing units in the local community.

  • The Housing Authority of Greenville, SC

    The Greenville Housing Authority provides rental and homeownership assistance to low income individuals.  Assistance is income based.

  • Allen Temple CEDC

    Allen Temple CEDC rehabilitates and revitalizes neighborhoods in the West End and Sterling Communities in order to provide affordable homeownership opportunities to low income families.

    The Neighborhood Housing Corporation is a non-profit organization that constructs affordable housing units in the local community.

Homebuyer Education, Credit Counseling, and Financial Literacy

  • Greenville County Human Relations

    The County’s Key Program provides an educational seminar for first-time homebuyers so they may qualify for down-payment assistance or a low interest loan through HUD approved funding.

  • Compass Of Carolina

    Compass of Carolina is a not-for-profit agency that specailzes in one-on-one credit counseling servies.

  • Soteria CDC

    Soteria CDC offers education, counseling, and assistance for first time homebuyers and homeownership.

  • Urban League of the Upstate

    The Urban League offers a HUD approved couseling program to assist citizens to make informed decisions regarding their housing needs and goals.

Owner Occupied Rehabilitation

  • City of Greenville

    The Community Improvement Program (CIP) provides loans of up to $24,500 for qualified, low income, owner-occupants in rehabilitating their homes.

  • Allen Temple CEDC

    Allen Temple CEDC offers rehabilitation grants to low income residents of owners occupied housing.

  • Homes of Hope

    Homes of Hope provides an emergency home repair grant up to a $20,000 for homeowners at or below 50% area median income.

  • Greenville County Redevelopment Authority

    GCRA is committed to improving the quality of life for low to moderate income citizens through neighborhood revitalization, homeownership assistance, and emergency home repair.

  • Community Conservation Corps

    Provides energy-saving modifications to Greenville County residents by helping weatherize their homes, operated in conjunction with Furman University.

Tenant Counseling

  • Greenville County Human Relations

    The Human Relations accepts complaints, mediates, and makes referrals where necessary when violations of employment law and landlord/tenant law are alleged.

  • The Urban League of the Upstate

    The Urban League offers a housing counseling program that enables participants to make informed decision regarding their housing needs and goals.  The program also offers a one-time (per year) rental or mortgage assistance for those in need.

    United Ministries' Place of Hope program offers intense case management to help participants obtain long term housing.
